What is Science Mastery Secondary?
Science Mastery is a complete curriculum and teacher development programme, including everything you need to deliver a mastery curriculum in your science classroom.
Our curriculum is cumulative and we believe in the importance of teaching for a deep level of understanding. Our curriculum maps detail the precise knowledge and skills that students are expected to acquire, and these are carefully sequenced so that students' understanding of the big ideas of science build cumulatively over five years. Our online learning platform, MyMastery, offers easy ‘anytime, anywhere’ access to our full suite of Science Mastery content.
This includes induction training for all teachers, a comprehensive set of lesson plans and resources with integrated assessment, and a structured programme of subject-specific professional development. All of our resources are adaptable, allowing you to tailor them to your unique setting.
Recommended Usage:
Our programme offers 36 weeks worth of lessons, with four lessons available in each week, allowing you to build flexibility in your planning approach..
Training:
We offer training both on how to use our platform, and training on implementing our curriculum approach. Our induction training offers professional development for teachers, empowering them to understand our curriculum approach and helping them with implementation in their setting. This includes a mix of recorded webinar sessions, and some online self study learning modules designed to enhance teacher subject knowledge and support them to deliver a mastery curriculum in the classroom.

The curriculum has been planned and sequenced through a rigorous 5 year LTP that puts the mastery of key concepts and skills at the forefront to of the pupil experience. The resourcing and training allows all teachers, regardless of experience to meet the highest expectations and put the emphasis for teachers on intellectual preparation for individual classes

Using SM for the past 2 years has been fantastic. The resources are great and really varied so that you can select the right things to use with individual classes. Everything is also created with up to date science education research in mind. The team at SM are very responsive to any queries or feedback and are a great support by providing lots of different training sessions for teachers at all stages of their career.
